The second reason could be that the canvas is not set to a new layer. To fix this, go into the pen pressure settings and adjust the pressure to a higher setting. I'm rather distraught as this makes the laptop virtually useless for the purpose it was given to me. ![]() I've seen people using the stylus with Photoshop but I can't tell if it's old or new versions. The first thing to check is whether your pen is properly charged. You should now be able to use your tablet and FA flawlessly. I will be pretty gutted if the problem comes down to Adobe simply not having any drivers or updates for CS4 regarding this because I can't really afford a newer version of Photoshop. Firealpaca Pen Not Working There are a few possible reasons why your FireAlpaca pen may not be working. In the 'Pen Pressure Detection’, uncheck 'Use tablet and mouse at the same time’ and enable the 'OS Pen Pressure Detection.’ Step 4: Uncheck, 'Ignore Tablet Events’ and hit OK and exit out of the environment settings window. Drivers upon drivers from the hardware side do nothing. I have looked through the net for fixes and nothing works. And also that flipping the pen around doesn't erase stuff. And then I find that the stylus it came packaged with, which apparently is HP's standard and compatible with the machine (SPEN-HP-03, I think?), does not have any pen pressure sensitivity with Photoshop CS4 (still the old reliable for me). ![]() It is the same on the driver, in the pressure sensitivity testing. The space in between those two points is a straight line. On multiple art programs (Firealpaca, Krita) it will not create a visible line until the stylus is about a centimeter away from the starting point. My parents surprised me by gifting me with a HP Spectre x360 laptop so I could work on art anytime. My rechargeable stylus on the Kamvas GT-191 has major response issues.
